Why you should pick Brian Silverman as Your Guitar Teacher

As stated on the home page Brian Silverman started music at a young age. As a matter of fact his mother has said many times that she could hear him humming Beethoven’s 9th symphony even before his first words were spoken. He started on the piano, then drums and played around with an old acoustic guitar until finally landing his first love – the electric guitar.

Brian has played with a lot of serious and prestigious musicians including: David Sikes: former bass blayer from the legendary rock group Boston. Jon Herrington of the progressive rock group Steely Dan. He even subbed in for Billy Joel’s guitarist Tommy Byrnes on a stage production of Moving Out which is a show based upon Billy Joel’s music and life. He has played music for musicals such as: Hairspray, Moving Out, Rent and Jersey Boys.

Brian has a degree from Berklee school of music where he graduated with a degree in Jazz composition. This is no mean feat as Berklee is one of the premier schools for musicians in the world and has among it’s alumni Steve Vai and Branford Marsalis amongst others. Having such a degree gives Brian a level of gravitas as a music teacher that few private teachers can provide. If you want your young son or daughter to have a career in music then you can’t do much better than Brian Silverman.

In addition to his degree from Berklee Brian also has had the pleasure of training with some of the best musicians and guitar players in the world including: Gary Hoey, Bruce Bartlett (famous Jazz musician and teacher of Garey Hoey) and prestigious music instructor Charlie Banacos who once had a 5 year waiting list for accepting new students! Indeed Brian is a well rounded and well trained musician of the highest calibre who can teach you anything you want to know about the instrument known as the guitar.

Brian believes that one of the most rewarding aspects of being a teacher is seeing his students thrive and progress as they not only learn how to play their favorite songs but also how those songs were written. As the old saying goes “teach a man to fish he’ll eat for a lifetime”. Brian keeps his skills up by being a perpetual student as well as a teacher. He is currently improving his classical repertoire and learning more about Jazz as well.

If you want a guitar teacher with experience, knowledge and the ability to teach you anything you want to know on the guitar … look no further than Brian Silverman.
